I just have to say it:

According to the Saint Rose website as well as all the local news stations and newspapers, there was a girl that lives in Brubacher Hall that walked in on two men robbing her, soon after that there was an attempted assault.  This is what bugs the shit out of me, and Im betting on the fact that I can speak freely right now because that is exactly what I am going to do.  I feel that everyone needs to keep their mouths shut.  If you dont know what happened than you should stick your noses in other peoples business. 

On a personal note, everything that the news said and all the gossip that was and still is going around the campus is NOT TRUE.  The girl that this happened to is a very dear friend of mine and I feel that for her and for every other girl on this campus I have to say this.  Attempted assalt?  No, it really happened.  She walked in on two guys robbing her and was then sexually assaulted.  What pisses me off the most is people saying that all she had to do was run.  Fuck that, you have no idea what you would do in that situation.  I know from personal experience of being raped myself that you just freeze.  There are so many things that go through your head and you dont even think to move.  I just want everyone to shut their mouths not just for her but for yourselves.  I mean there are these two guys still out there and true it didnt happen to you, but it happened to someone, and thats nothing to joke or criticize about.  It could have been anyone, and I realize that now people are saying that they dont feel safe in their own college and yes that sucks, but I want to put it out there to be aware and dont walk alone.  Dont change you life because this happened, just remember it and remember if it happened to you I dont think that you would appreciate people talking about something that happened to you in a bad way.

My theme song

If I had a theme song thus far in my life, I would have to say that it would be “Summer of 69″.  I asolutely love to have fun and enjoy every moment i have.  I have had a lot of problems that I have had to deal with and now just living my life as it comes is all that I care about.  This song is not just my summer, its my everyday.  Things go on in my life, to me and to my friends and I take it all in and put on a smile.  In the song the line that says, “that summer seemed to last forever”, well thats my life.  I try and live every day to the fullest and as best I can.  I try and live my life the way I think other people would like me to.  Im a people person and I just love to smile, thats why ever since I overcame everything that had happened to me, I try and smile as most I can.  I would love for the summer to last forever, when its summer everyone seems so much happier and layed back.  You cant help but love every moment of the summer because you know that it will end in three short months.  So i try as best I can to make my life, summer forever, because this is how I want to live and this is how I should live.

So Unfortunate

Jurors watch video of last seconds before limo crash

 This story was so unfortunate.  Last year there was a horrific accident with a pick-up truck and a limo.  It involved the death of the driver of the pick-up truck and seven year old Katie Flynn.  This driver had 14 drinks in him and decided to go and drive, he was driving the oppisite way on the road and lost control and went into the limo injurying every member of the family coming back from a family wedding. 

The fact that this happened is horrible in itself.  One has to be really dumb to get behind the wheel of a car after 14 drinks.  It is even more upsetting when i found out that it was Katie Flynn, a girl in my nieces school who I knew the family very well.  Going to the funeral of this little girl was devistating.  The poor mother had to have a closed casket because she was decapitated.  The amount of people in the church that day gave me chills.  Its so upsetting because the life of that little girl couldnt have been spared I mean she was inly seven years old, she didnt deserve it.

I know that this is not exactly what you think someone would right about, but I saw it and I had to put my input on it.  Finding the best pizza, for me thats not even a question.  Everybody knows that New York has the best pizza, but there is not one person that could deny the fact that Long Island doesnt have the best pizza in the world.  In my town there is this place that will definately win the question for sure.  They have already been on the news for having the best pizza in my surrounding six towns.  Im not even joking it is amazing.  My grandparents live in New Jersey, and you know that everyone likes a home cooked meal when you come to visit, but not them, they like to get this pizza, thats how good it is.  Well I think I officially wore out the topic, I mean there is only so much to write about and I know for sure this is the weirdest topic Ive written about, but there is a first time for everything isnt there.

I find these types of things so interesting.  The fact that I live in Long Island myself I usually do my news about them so I can kill two birds with one stone, do my news and keep up with what is going on in Long Island.  Long Island never seems to disappoint in the strange yet interesting news.  A Water Spout is very rare I know but the fact that it happened is so facinating to me.  I mean look at the pictre of it, look at the way it forms, granted it only touched down for about 15 minutes, but the fact of the matter is that it did touch down.  I remember when a tornado came down my block back home.  It was by far the scarest, yet coolest experience I ever had in my life.  Dealing with the dammage wasn’t the most fun, but the act in itself was so cool.  Luckily for these people there were no injuries or damage.  I know Im babbling but I just really like tornados.

It is amazing to me that the world is really no better to any one person.  Yes, people have fortunes and successes, but what it all  comes down to is the fact that the world will never change.  In today’s society people have to stoop so low and rob a bank because either they cant make ends meet, or they are just looking for the thrill of the event.  Either way it is disturbing that so many people are so ashamed that people do this, not just me, and every time I put on the television or read the newspaper, there are several cases of people doing such things.  Do we not have any more common sense?  Do we not have any more respect?  The answer is no, these percious things are not taught the same way they were used to, no im not saying that years ago there wasnt a thing wrong in society, but there was still a sense of respeect, not just for yourself but for others as well.  I dont know I could be blowing the whole thing out of proportion, but its just how I feel.

It is always sad when you find out on the NEWS that someone was killed, especially a teenager, and for one second you don’t care what they did, you just sympathizes with the family and the situation.  But then as they get into the story, you realize that they either deserved it or they didn’t.  In this case for instance, it is unclear whose fault it really was.  Granted the teenager was armed with what they investigated to be stolen, but he did not shoot at the officers first.  Just running away gave the cops the chance to shoot him, they must do so if they feel that they are in any danger to themselves or others surrounding them.  On the other hand you have to feel sorry for the grieving family.  The teenager had just gotten out of juvenile detention center and was on the verge of being a good kid, he wasn’t doing anything wrong, just a wrong place and the wrong time kind of thing, which was exactly what happened.  Many blessings to the family of Mason, and best of luck to the decision making process of this situation.

This passage in Live From Death Row was definitely one that moved me the most.  I originally found myself thinking, wow this is so humiliating for these inmates and its really a shame that they get treated the way they do.  Then I thought it over, read it over, and I realized how dumb I was for thinking that.  The reason that they are there is because they deserve to be there, they screwed up, but they did that themselves, thats their bad.  They put themselves there and to expect anything more of the people that have to deal with them is expecting the impossible.  It is sad that these are things that really happen and that that familiar cadence is so familiar.  These people wake up every day and they go to work knowing that they are going to have to do the same thing as they did the day before.  But its sad to think that what was once a rare occasion of crime of such magnitude, is now and every day routine.

Many More Dinosaurs Still to Be Found – New York Times

    To most people, the discovery of new fossils of Dinosaurs is something that one would put on the back burner.  I on the other hand am extremely interested in the fossilization and new discoveries of unknown dinosaurs.  I find it so interesting that after all these years and so many erosions, people can still find unknown fossils.  The fact that people devote all of there time into doing something so time consuming is amazing, although I’m sure it must be very rewarding in the end.  It is also interesting to know that scientists have made predictions that there are many more dinosaurs that are yet to be found.  These scientists are not only discovering dinosaurs, but what they describe as, “Mammal Mimicry” and “Weathered Asteroids” and “Genes for Plastic.”  New discoveries are being made every day and I feel that it is all worth while knowing that someone is out there and they dont give up until they find something.

Have you ever just sat down and thought about what really happened on September 11th? Today, five years later, the truth is covered up with stories and unknown truths. For me I remember exactly where I was, exactly what I was wearing, who I was with and exactly what I was thinking. I want people to actually remember what happened on that day, not just say “oh yeah it happened”.
